This movie marks the final Sentai appearance of Taiki Matsuno (Shurikenger/Sonoshin Nagao) prior to his passing on June 26, 2024.

The Superintendent General was portrayed by Hiroshi Fujioka, best known for his role of Takeshi Hongo/Kamen Rider 1, the original protagonist of Kamen Rider. His cameo appearance in Project G4 was a commemoration of the Kamen Rider 30th Anniversary, with his dialogue to Shoichi being an allusion to his previous role.
While his name remained unrevealed, it is strongly implied from external sources that the MPD Superintendent General is in-fact Takeshi Hongo himself.

The film occurs across several episodes of the TV series in August to November. The beginning of the film takes place after Kamen Rider Agito Special: A New Transformation and during the events of episode 35. The period in November, takes place between episodes 46 and 47.

The movie's title and plot is a reference to the classic Akira Kurosawa film, the Seven Samurai.This movie features the first appearance of Armed Hibiki, which would debut on the series in episode 33.
This is the last summer movie to be released on September. Starting from Kamen Rider Kabuto: God Speed Love through Kamen Rider Build: Be The One (except Gaim) would have to be released on August, with the Zi-O's movie back to July.
